Each year a committee of the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) identifies the best of the best in children's books for all age levels (birth through age 14) that reflect and encourage children's interests in exemplary ways.
Supported by a Texas Book Festival Grant, this list was developed by Irving Public Library children's services librarians and Lamar Middle School librarians and reading teachers to encourage boys to read for fun and enjoyment.
