  • The Guys Read Book Club is hosted monthly at Lamar Middle School. Held in the school's library, the club is a partnership between Irving Public Library, the Lamar Middle School Librarian and Lamar Middle School reading teachers.

Guys Read began in Fall 2008 as an after school outreach for sixth grade boys. Each month, a title is selected for the boys to read and discuss. Throughout the year, the boys are also given free books and comics to take home, as encouragement to continue reading for enjoyment.

To learn more about Guys Read, please contact Deborah F. Vaden, Library Services Manager for Irving Public Library.
