Discover the Hidden Treasures of Irving Public Library, The Friends of the Library Annual Meeting
Thursday, May 17, 7 – 9 p.m.
Central Library, 801 W. Irving Blvd. Irving

A short business meeting will be followed by a visual presentation showcasing the services and treasures of the library system at the Friends of the Library Annual Meeting. The activities will conclude with a meet-and-greet where attendees are invited to visit with representatives from the Library and Friends of the Library Board while enjoying free refreshments and learning about the benefits of becoming a Friend of the Library.

Attendees will receive a free Friends of the Library book bag and Book Bucks for the Friends Annual Summer Book Sale on June 7-10.

Membership is not required to attend; applications will be available at the meeting. The Friends of the Library support the Irving Public Library by raising funds for materials and programs. Call (972) 721-2628.

About the Friends
The Friends of the Irving Public Library is a nonprofit organization of individuals dedicated to supporting and enhancing the library. The Friends accomplish this mission, in part, by supplementing the Library's annual materials budget, providing funds for thousands of additional books and AV materials each year.
The Friends also enrich library services by...

Anyone can become a friend! (Click for membership form)
As a friend, you will have admittance to Members Only Preview Night at the Annual Book Sale and receive invitations to special events such as author programs and readings.
Membership
Membership dues are collected annually:
  • Individual membership - $10.00
  • Family membership - $20.00
  • Patron membership - $100.00
  • Life membership - $250.00 (individuals and families)
  • Corporate membership - $1,000.00
Dues and contributions to the Friends are tax deductible.

Grocery discount cards
If you shop at Tom Thumb, you can request that your Reward Card be linked to the Friends through the Good Neighbor Program. All you have to do is give the cashier your Reward Card and the Friends’ Good Neighbor number (4144), and a percentage of your Reward Card savings are automatically recorded to the Friends’ account. Once your card has been linked to the Friends, just give your card to the cashier at the beginning of each transaction.

Volunteering
Volunteers are always needed for the annual book sale to help with sorting and preparing materials.

Book donations
The Friends always welcome new and gently used book donations. Bring your donations to any Irving Library.
